No worries Graham, these things happen occasionally.

To the lifespan of a cat, it must seem to them that they live 1000 years!

I think it’s referring to the story I saw about Ex-President Jimmy Carter saying he would vote for Kamala Harris on Polling Day, which also happens to be his 100th birthday.

    But I could be wrong.

As someone who has had fluffy cats in the past: Nothing holds back the Fluff!

A two story building over here is just that, a building with a ground floor and another floor above it. The only difference is how we name the floors.

“Books to buy” is quite a strange one, I can’t say I’ve ever heard it asked that way.

The one that gets me every time is when someone is described as wearing a ‘vest’, over here that’s a waistcoat. A vest is a sleeveless garment worn underneath clothes next to the skin as an extra layer. I’m thinking that the US name comes from ‘Vestments’.

To be fair, we also do it all the time over here ;-)

I wasn’t intending to imply it was exclusively used, as I know it isn’t. It just catches me out when it is used. A couple of YooToobers I follow use it when moving heavy machinery “We’ll get it drug out of the bushes.” It just sounds strange to me.

Yeah, Ground Floor in the UK is First Floor in the US, I can understand the confuzzlement ;-)

Escaping from a building via a Second Floor window is easier in the US than it is in the UK, there’s a bit more of a drop!
