Once I graduated from high school, I discovered that the classics were much more fun to read when you weren’t expected to submit a book report on them afterwards.

It was said that my late mother would argue with a fence post. She definitely argued with my GPS. (And called it rude names.)

Yeah, that’s pretty much the way I felt about those story problems.

I used to work with a guy named Alex. Whenever we’d have a Microsoft Teams meeting, my Alexa would chime in every time someone called his name.

And I’d like to go on record as saying this story line is seriously stressing me out. I live with the fear that a maintenance man will leave the apartment door open, my boys will get scared and bolt, never to be seen again. (They’re both chipped, but that’s very little comfort.) I want to see Sofie back home where she belongs. And quickly!

Happy ending or not, I don’t like pussycats in peril. Ever. Not even a little bit.

I really don’t like this story line. My nagging fear is that the apartment maintenance men will leave one of the doors open and my boys will get scared and bolt. (They’re both chipped, but it doesn’t make one iota of difference.)

We don’t need a fountain of youth. We’ve got plenty of youth. What we really need is a fountain of smart.

“tubes of concentrated nasty” That’s the most apt and evocative description I’ve heard in a long time.
